Candice prides herself in being a geek, artist, and activist.
Born and raised in Hawai‘i, she studied Digital Animation at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and discovered a passion for student advocacy. She was elected and served as a representative to the Associated Students of UH for four years. She represented Hawai‘i to meet with U.S. House of Representative Neil Abercrombie and the late, legendary Representative Patsy Mink with the United States Students Association in Washington, D.C.
Candice worked for a special effects startup as an Art Director for music videos and assisted in special effects for television. In San Francisco, she honed digital ad buying and management skills working for Yelp.
In 2009, she combined her passion for politics and geekiness to work for Organizing for America as a Summer Organizer, then as the California Deputy New Media Director. In 2010, she became Northern California’s Regional Field Director, managing several volunteer teams and ran one of the most productive election hubs in the nation.
Candice has been with 50+1 Strategies from its start, and has worked on nearly every campaign with the firm. She specializes in print design and has won several national awards for her logo, billboard, and mailer designs. She also has run trainings on the visual design at Netroots Nation three years in a row.
In her spare time, Candice enjoys geeking out to anything Star Wars, playing music and video games, and cheering on the San Francisco Giants.
